OUR STORY

Jay and his brother Rich grew up at with their parents and sister at Bar-K. It was an incredible house in which to spend their childhood. The garden was known as Hatt football pitch and with the house always having welcoming parents and a games room it was a regular venue for social activities with fiends, family and neighbours. Decades of special very memories were made at Bar-K and knowing how the property brought such enjoyment to our lives we decided that we wanted to keep Bar-K in the family and run it as a holiday home. Jay and Lisa began renovating and letting residential accommodation in 2001 and quickly became hooked on refurbing and managing property. Lisa and Jay love the Rame Peninsular and Whitsand Bay where they rebuilt and let a holiday chalet called Penquite. Much of their holiday letting experience, ideas and inspiration come from the fun, challenging and rewarding days of letting Penquite Chalet. Jay and Lisa moved to Harrowbarrow (15 minutes from Bar-K) back in 2015 after falling in love with a former Wesleyan Chapel and Sunday School. Both buildings were in need of a major structural and internal renovation. The Old Sunday School is now complete and is working out well as a busy couples' retreat holiday home. Lisa comes from a background in retail management and runs her own beauty salon in Saltash, but is also chief cleaner at Bar-K and has a very keen eye for presentation. Jay manages the holiday and residential property. In their leisure time Lisa can be found in the field looking after her ponies, pigs, goats, chickens and ducks whilst Jay will be riding his bike, paddleboarding or surfing.
